# Parking in Silkeborg (English)

Here is what you need to know about municipal parking spaces owned and operated by Silkeborg Municipality, including how to pay, when parking is free, and what to do if you receive a parking fine.

## Public parking in Silkeborg

Public parking is available across Silkeborg, but in some municipal parking areas you must pay for parking or observe time restrictions.

On Silkeborg Municipality’s parking areas where payment is required, paid parking applies during the following hours:

- Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

## How to pay for parking in municipal areas

The payment options below apply to municipal parking areas where payment is required

### Pay with parking apps

If you pay using a parking app, you do not need to use the pay stations. Register your vehicle in the app for the relevant municipal parking area and start the parking session.

Please note:

- Make sure you register the correct vehicle and license plate.

- When you finish parking, stop the parking session in the app.

### Pay with paymentcard

Use the pay stations located on the streets.

**Important:** You must enter your license plate number.

You will be offered a receipt when checking in. There is no need to place a ticket in the car.

When you finish parking, check out using the same payment card. You will be offered a receipt for the payment. Always remember to check out before leaving – even outside the paid parking hours.

Automatic check-out occurs after 24 hours. If you forget to check out, you may be charged a maximum of **DKK 120**.

### Pay with coins (in advance)

At some parking meters, you can pay with coins. Register your parking by entering your car’s license plate number.

**Important:** At parking meters where payment is made only with coins, it is not possible to enter the vehicle’s license plate number.

- Insert coins corresponding to the desired parking time.

- You must place the parking ticket visibly and clearly readable behind the windshield.

- Parking ends automatically when the purchased time expires.

## Have you received a parking fine in Silkeborg?

If you have parked illegally, you may receive a parking fine. The fine is usually placed under the windshield wiper of your car.

### How to pay the fine

The fine must be paid no later than **10** days after the date of the offence. The date and payment ID are stated on the ticket.

The fine can be paid at banks and via online banking. Both the date and payment ID are noted on the ticket.

### Pay by bank transfer

You can pay by international bank transfer to the Department of Technical and Environmental Affairs (Teknik- og Miljøafdelingen), Silkeborg Municipality.

To ensure correct registration of your payment, please remember to:

- State the serial number of the parking ticket
- Provide the vehicle’s license plate number
